More Legal Trouble At WuzzaDem

[John]

Great. As soon as I complied with this communique from Doris Kearns Goodwin's attorney Gopher/PR hack, I started getting slammed with complaints from sheister lawyers all over the country.

This one is especially disturbing:

Mr. WuzzaDem,

I represent The Comic Book Guy. My client was falsely portrayed on your web site interviewing Mary Mapes, who, in addition to being a lying hack of a pathetic excuse for a jounalist, has a disposition that makes my client look pleasant by comparison.

By falsely associating Comic Book Guy with Ms. Mapes you have done considerable damage to his reputation as a boorish, sarcastic, immature loser. We request that you remove the posting immediately, and that in the future you refrain from falsely associating my client with Ms. Mapes, Alec Baldwin, Charlotte Church, or that a**hole that made the McDonalds documentary.

Thanks for your cooperation. That is, assuming you do cooperate, because I have no intention of thanking you if you don't. Plus, I'll take legal action. Because, you know, I'm a lawyer.

Sincerely,

Ann B. Lance-Chaser

P.S: I have a big corner office with a really bitchin' view of the Sherman Oaks Galleria.

I can see it now.

"The Hangin' Judge", Hon. Stick Figure, presiding over Lance-Chaser v. WuzzaDem.

It could get ugly. Judge Figure don't take kindly to a time-wastin'.

Here is a bio of Beth Laski from USC "Daily Trojan" alumni pages:

"Beth has been given the title of senior vice president of media relations for Universal Studios, though I've also heard she isn't working there any more. Joel Ordesky originally tipped me with this note: "OK here is one for you. Beth Laski. She was executive film editor for the Hollywood Reporter, resigning earlier this year as part of a controversy over the HR's columnist George Christie. Previous to that she worked for KCBS as an investigative reporter and prior to that she was with the Daily News." and Variety, adds this editor. She's also freelanced for NPR, the L.A. Times and Premiere magazine, according to an article in The Hollywood Reporter about her Universal posting. Also might have been Cinescape's West Coast Editor."

Not a lawyer, just a flack.

Google rules, except that they suck for caving to the Chinese Commies.

Yojimbo,

Good find. I'm such an idiot I just assumed that Doris Whatshername would actually use a lawyer to threaten peons like me.

Tell Beth and Ms. Goodwin to deal with it. Goodwin is a public figure and your site is parodying her. You have nothing to worry about. I think just for the purpose of irritating Goodwin and her PR flack Beth your parody of Doris should be on as many blogs as possible.

chez diva,

Now that I think about it, Doris Whatchamacallit must have had her PR Gopher contact me because she's looking for some badly needed publicity, which I'm more than happy to provide.

Is Sobek available to do some pro bono work?

Not that I ever understood why anybody would be "for" Sonny...

Probono? Isn't that a kind of cheese?

Yes, probono makes a great samich with valoney and grey poupon.
Even Doris Snerk Goodwin would enjoy one.

She is reading realy big dicionary and is happy that means she is not a liberal

Isn't ProBono that lead singer for You, too?

I was psyched that there was some dirt in Yojimbo's bit about the HR. Turns out to be interesting, but neutral about Ms. Lance-Chaser.

Not that this should put a drag on any "Hangin' Judge" series that's in the works.

Some people need to get a fucking sense of humor.
