Jimmy Carter Upset Over Palestinian Election Results

[John]

Color me shocked:

"It is unconscionable to perpetuate fraudulent or biased electoral practices in any nation."

Yes! Say it, brother!

"It is especially objectionable among us Americans, who have prided ourselves on setting a global example for pure democracy."

Whaaa?

"With reforms unlikely at this late stage of the election, perhaps the only recourse will be to focus maximum public scrutiny on the suspicious process in Florida."

Oops. My bad.

So what did he say about the Palestinian elections?

"The elections were completely honest, completely fair, completely safe and without violence," the former president said.

Oh. I see. I think he must have taken a whack to the head while he was building one of those Habitat for Hamas houses (or whatever you call them). Either that or he's just an idiot. A useful one.

UPDATE: Useful. Definitely useful. H/T: tee bee

Again, my vote is that he is an idiot. The empty wagon rattles the loudest, so to speak.

"Habitat for Hamas." Love it! Gotta remember that one.

I can appreciate his contributions to worthwhile organizations. That appreciation is counterbalanced by 11.7 kajillion metric tons of disdain for his moronic, America-hating bloviations. He gives idiots a bad name.

Can somebody tell me what in the hell happened with a little thing called TREASON? I don't care if he is an ex-president or not -- it is STILL breaking the law. Carter, Kerry and Co. need to be behind bars, not microphones. I personally know several people from Venezuela and they said the elections down there were completely fraudulent. Guess who certified those elections as well? In short, Carter is a complete idiot.

Is treason a little strong for your liking? How about aiding and abetting? Take for example the city of Denver. Some politicians passed a law creating a persecution-free zone for ILLEGAL aliens. The last time I checked, helping somebody who is breaking the law is illegal as well. The illegal aliens need to be sent back to where they came from AND these politicians need to lose their jobs and be thrown in jail or whatever the law said to do with treasonous individuals.

Clearly that or thing. He continues to construct the most damning presidential legacy of the 20th century. By 2008 he'll be gilding an onion-shaped dome.

Unless he's started moonlighting as a live target at the gun range, I'd question your characterization of Carter as a "useful" idiot.

He sounds insane to me. Total lack of connection to reality and what is good vs. bad. But that seems to be an epidemic among liberals.

"Habitat for Hamas." That's how Carter will get around the little problem of the #12 slot on the List of Designated Foreign Terrorist Organizations. Create a little NGO to funnel some "much needed" money through.

Oh, where are the terrorist kidnappers when you need them? May hoping they would cut off his head is a bit inhumane. Maybe cut off his tongue? Yeah, that would be okay since we would have to listen to his ravings anymore.

Winning a Nobel in any category has become a formula now. If only I could isolate the gene that makes Jews and Americans loathsome in Jimmy Carter's eyes (sounds like a great Kim Carnes song), show how to make money from it, and present it in a play, I could get the Nobel in medicine, peace, literature, and economics. Move over Bono...

When Jimmy Carter is helping build homes for the homeless and only when he builds homes for the homeless, he has my respect.

When he's not doing that he's jackass then should know when to keep his mouth shut.

So anyway to the Palestinian elections.

If anyone here has absolute proof that fraud was involved in the Hamas lanslide victories come forward now.

If not then accept the reality, we want democracy in the Middle East yes?

Then we shouldn't yell foul when it doesn't go the way we wanted it to go.

I'm just saying keep an eye on the situation, unless you want to press the CIA back into service of engineering coup de tats.

Because the Shah of Iran was such a rousing success was it not? Uh yeah.

How about Pinochet? Yeah. >_>

Smitty - This post doesn't allege any wrongdoing in the Palestinian elections. I am saying that Carter was quick to believe the rumor and innuendo about the 2000 presidential elections (which he called "the debacle in Florida", and according to his own account, it took months of concerted effort by a group of experts to "confirm" his suspicions.

Regarding the elections in Palestine, however, a few days after "monitoring" the election--and you can be sure that his access to voters and voting places was restricted far more than it was or ever would be here--he's ready to declare those elections "completely honest, completely fair, completely safe and without violence."

In Florida and in Palestine, his mind was made up ahead of time.

From what he rubberstamped in Venezuela and slandered in the US, the question is not whetherJImmuh is corrupt, it is only how much does he charge to throw an election. He is not honorable. He is not ethical and he is not honest.

Carter proves why he was americas worse preident and proves what a nit- wit he still is

jimmy carter made an ass out of himself while attending the state of the union funeral for correta king
i am surprised that he broke the standing presidance that was established by george washington when he made derogatory comments about a standing president

in addition, what do you think this man is doing for the morale of our armed forces by his comments?

he "was" in the military at one time. could it be that officers have special priveledges?

this is so interesting
