DU: Hackett Victory(?) Celebration

[John]

Progressive_Conscience (1,000+ posts)
Has everyone heard the results of the Hackett race? I'm so excited!!!

Young_Anarchist (548 posts)

Paul Hackett won? That's great!

Progressive_Conscience (1,000+ posts)

No, he lost, but he only lost by 4%! You know what this means for 2006, don't you?

Young_Anarchist (548 posts)

That we're going to lose in 2006?

Progressive_Conscience (1,000+ posts)

No, you idiot! It means we're going to win, and we're going to win big!

Regime_ChangeUSA (1,000+ posts)
Man, I bet the rethugs are sh*tting bricks over this win!

Kucinich4Pres (875 posts)

It's like Christmas came early!

Regime_ChangeUSA (1,000+ posts)
Hey, why not just say "F**k Kwanzaa and Ramadan"?

Kucinich4Pres (875 posts)
Sorry - habit.

Proletariat_Guy (1,000+ posts)
Great news, everyone. I just did a little math, and with any luck the death toll in Iraq will overtake the number of 9/11 deaths before the '08 election.

Progressive_Conscience (1,000+ posts)

You're in the wrong thread. You want "Good News From Iraq."

Proletariat_Guy (1,000+ posts)

Oh, thanks.

Young_Anarchist (548 posts)
I don't understand. How does Hackett losing the election translate to us winning in 2006?

Regime_ChangeUSA (1,000+ posts)
You know what did it? It was Hackett calling shrub a 'son of a bitch'. It's time to follow Howard Dean's lead and heat up the rhetoric, people.

Progressive_Conscience (1,000+ posts)

Don't forget, the guy was a veteran, too. All we need to do is find more Democratic veterans who are willing to put chimp down in public and we can't lose.

Kucinich4Pres (875 posts)

I haven't been this excited since Kucinich presented his plan for a 'Department of Peace'.

Positive_Femergy (994 posts)
If we're only going to run veterans, how are we going to get women into office?

Progressive_Conscience (1,000+ posts)

Who cares? The important thing is for us to win.

Positive_Femergy (994 posts)
Did you just say 'who cares'? You sound like some red-state, misogynist caveman!

Regime_ChangeUSA (1,000+ posts)

Come on, everyone, this is no time to fight. Let's all think nothing but positive thoughts so we can run those disgusting repukes out of town on rails.

Young_Anarchist (548 posts)

Wait a minute - isn't Hackett the guy who ran that ad saying he supported the Iraq war?

Progressive_Conscience (1,000+ posts)

Come on, dude. He didn't actually say he supported the war. The ad was worded very carefully so that some people would think he supported the war, but he could still trash shrub and say that he supported the troops, but not the illegal war.

Regime_ChangeUSA (1,000+ posts)

This proves what I've been saying all along - people want real progressive candidates, not the DINOs we had running for president in 2004.

Kucinich4Pres (875 posts)

Except Kucinich - he's no DINO!

Progressive_Conscience (1,000+ posts)

Kucinich can blow me! We need a Department of Revolution, not a Department of Peace.

Young_Anarchist (548 posts)

Why would Hackett have to act like a conservative if people really want a progressive candidate?

Kucinich4Pres (875 posts)

Why would you say something like that about Kucinich?

Positive_Femergy (994 posts)
How can you say it's not important to have female progressives running for office?

Young_Anarchist (548 posts)
I still don't understand how this guy losing means we're going to win in 2006.

Progressive_Conscience (1,000+ posts)

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE??? I started this thread to celebrate today's loss, and you're acting like a bunch of losers.

Regime_ChangeUSA (1,000+ posts)

PC is right. What we should be doing is putting together some solid strategies that will help us replicate today's results in every single district.

Young_Anarchist (548 posts)

You want to replicate a loss?

Progressive_Conscience (1,000+ posts)

F**k this. I'm going over to Kos.

Regime_ChangeUSA (1,000+ posts)

Me too. Now, those guys know how to celebrate a loss.

Did somebody say McDonalds?

For a moment there I thought you cut and pasted that from DU! Excellent job John!

I didn't know Hackett was running for anything.

Hey, Jeff, are you talking about me?

You are, aren't you? Well, I really don't care.

I mean, if I cared, then I would keep bringing it up, right? But I don't, so I won't.

It's my Ecosystem ranking, isn't it? You're just jealous because I'm a LARGE Mammal, right?

Not that I think stats or rankings matter. You know, what with me being a LARGE Mammal and all.

You should just drop this.

Really. I'm done with it.

Because, you know, it's really beneath me to dwell on such petty matters.

There are just so many other things in this world that are really important. Like my Ecosystem ranking, for instance (which, by the way, is LARGE Mammal).

Could you please stop dwelling on my Ecosystem (LARGE Mammal) ranking. Seriously, I'm embarrassed for you.

Link away, peons! Your pathetic attempts to ride on my coattails will only serve to drive my already fabulously high Ecosystem ranking further into the stratosphere.

Not that I care about those (LARGE MAMMAL) things, but bloggers of lesser significance might.

Which, some might say, proves my superiority to said less significant bloggers, but I'm much to modest to take part in such conversations.

John, you're talking to the voices in your head again.

Robin, Robin, Robin. You're assuming I care what any voices - be they in my head or those of other bloggers (whose stats, I might add, are laughable) - matter to me.

Obviously they don't, because I pay no attention to them.

I moved on long ago, but some people just can't get over their petty jealousy of me. Ho-hum.

Why are they even discussing this when there are so many important things about me - I mean, um, important things - to write about?

Dude, congrats on the 'large mammal' thing. Now, would you stop humping the couch?

I swear, you people are obsessed with me.

I don't get it. I moved on a long time ago. I really don't care.

If I did, I'd keep bringing it up, so obviously, it doesn't bother me in the least.

If I was bothered I wouldn't be able to just drop the subject like this.

Hey, Wuzzie--are you channeling LaShawn Barber?

I know what you mean John, I could care less that I am a friggin rodent. I mean sure, my traffic is better than some mammals or marsupial but since I don't join any link group thingies I get hosed. I am a hosed rodent.

But it doesn't bother me.

Not in the least, so I would never bring it up.

Nope.

I swear, you're so petty, Jeff. Why are you wasting time talking about this when there are so many more important things to discuss?

Well, Pile, at least you're a MAMMAL. I mean, who wants to associate with those reptile and mollusk people, right?

Man oh man, I can only begin to imagine what my standing would be like in the Ecosystem. Probably an amoeba or, worse still, a quark.

VOICE FROM BUSH:

Dude, please stop staring at your neighbor's lilac bush and go in the house. I have to pee sooooooo bad.

But that's just the point, CP. I'm big enough to tolerate your insignificance, whereas some bloggers, who are sooo preoccupied with what others are writing about, might not be.

Michael, on the other hand, frightens me.

No way that looks anything like a cut and paste from DU, Greg. Complete sentences, proper punctuation, great spelling, appropriate capitalization, and lines of coherent thought give it away. Fortunately, John took some artistic license in writing it so we fullbrained people could comprehend it.

I don't know exactly what that says about John, though. ;)

Yeah, well I jumped several species recently by joining some of those group thingies that Pile On never joins. What I'm saying is that although I am not a Large Mammal yet, my rate of evolution will have me passing this large mammal cite in no time. Evolutionly speaking. Like, you know, 10,000 years if global warming doesn't make us all extinct.

You had me going there for a while. I almost fell for it. I've heard tie-dyed hippie freak tree worshipping neosociliasts say things like "Proletariat_Guy (1,000+ posts)
Great news, everyone. I just did a little math, and with any luck the death toll in Iraq will overtake the number of 9/11 deaths before the '08 election" so I wouldn't have been surprised if this was an actual comment.

That doesn't bother me KJ.

Not in the least.

Well, Pile, I think of it as a blog union. I'm not strong enough by myself. I was a mere flappy bird. So I joined a few unions. Now I have strenght in numbers. Like an ant hill surrounded by termites and grasshoppers and diazanene (sp?).

A great post, John! Thanks!

Ha! The "rightwingnation" blog has a link for FU¢KING "JEFF GANNON / JAMES GUCKERT" on their website! Jesus, that does a hell of a lot for their credibility. Put a link for a gay male prostitute fake reporter who serviced the White House after gaining access using a fake name. Now, if THAT ain't national security, I don't know what is. That gimp was in the same room as President Yankee Chimp and did so under false pretenses. Of course, maybe Rove needed his "services."
THIS ADMINISTRATION IS AN ABSOLUTE FU¢KING DISGRACE.

"Gimme head... er... go ahead, Jeff." - Scott McClellan

Hey Snort,

Why all the hostility toward gay people? "Serviced the White House," "Rove needed his services," "Gimme head."

So, is intimating that people are gay supposed to be an insult? Not very progressive of you.
